Title: Menopause awareness in the work place - you must be joking
Post by: KarineT on June 30, 2022, 12:16:57 PM
Hi Everyone,

For those of you who are still working, Do you have menopause support in your workplace?

I work for a small firm and there is no such thing. I'd be lucky to get a fan because they just don't care except for themselves.

What's your view on this?

Sorry you are having problems Karine. Can you take in your own fan? I did.

It's a tough one in some work places. Mine were understanding of the need to have windows open etc though I found that didn't help with the hot sweats really. I was lucky that I was ok with HRT so didn't have to take time off as my symptoms disappeared then.

I'm not sure what employment law says about this.

I’m a TA in a small school.
Whilst I doubt there is a menopause policy in place, I am lucky enough to work in a building occupied only by kids and a handful of staff. I am free to take fresh air, go to the loo, snack etc when I want.

The pay is shocking, but I am not confined at all.
