Title: Estriol vaginal cream can it cause cramps in hands
Post by: Hopeful2 on June 29, 2022, 03:05:31 AM
Hi everyone.

Another sleepless night. Started estriol vaginal cream 3 nights ago. Been waking with hands cramping, fingers sticking out have to push them in to close fingers then panicking. Is it possibly this cream. Should I stop it?

Thank you.

Hi,

The amount of estrogen in vaginal cream is the equivalent to 1 HRT tablet a year. So I would think it may be your anxiety or something else. Try relaxing and if it continues call your GP for advice. The menopause often makes us anxious.

Nope, not caused by the cream.

But it is one of my peri symptoms. Look up trigger finger. Hand pain and stiffness can be due to lack of estrogen. Are you on a systemic HRT or just local estrogen? It might be time to consider systemic.
