Title: Breast tenderness worry
Post by: Stella2 on June 25, 2022, 07:46:40 PM
I would be grateful for advice. I have been on HRT for 6 months. I have swapped Sandrena with Estradot 75 a month and a half ago (also taking daily Utrogestan). Everything seems OK but last couple of days I started having breast pain. I have been cutting a bit of the patch off since I started using it because I used to be on 1mg Sandrena and tried raising up to 1.5 due to night sweats still occurring. I developed some breast pain and also had heart palpitations on 1.5 mg of Sandrena. GP said that the breast pain is nothing to worry about but I had none at the start, it started occurring after 4-5 months.
GP prescribed Estradot 75, but I decided to take a bit less, I think I take 65. However, now after month and a half I have breast pain again. Should I maybe try to cut off a bit more?

Hormones.  How were your breasts during your menstruating years?

I do get anxious regarding health and I read that the breast tenderness can be a symptom of increased density. The GP was not concerned but I am not sure about it.

I had breast disease treatment in the 1990s, no problems apart from the occasional soreness.  I have 1 spot which is always tender.  A GP recently advised me to use a good hand cream and gently massage the whole breast and rib area, as at my age  ::) there mayB adhesions from the surgery.

Where did U read that ?

Is that a US-site  :-\

Is the tenderness all the while or cyclic?  Does it hurt to wear clothing which would worry me more ........

Hi CLKD, thank you again for your reply.

I just looked and yes, it seems it's an US site. There was another one with similar content when I googled the issue.

My breasts feel swollen and they are a bit sore to touch or if I lay on my front. it's only been happening for the last 3 days. I am on continuous HRT regime.

Hormones.  The body doesn't get where it is suddenly, so any additional hormone will affect it.  Fullness, soreness, thickening so that they feel larger.  What would you like to do to ease your worry?

Thank you CLKD. I see now that this is normal and that I should not worry about breast cancer etc. due to this. I guess even in menopause there can be sudden spike of estrogen produced in the body and this is added to the HRT intake. Than you, you eased my worry. x

When i was on Femseven patch i had the breast pain when i tried reducing it by cutting in half. It's change in hormone level,  this is why our breasts were sore and swollen before a period.

Definitely a hormone related problem. I was on Evorel Conti patches until recently. I had the breast pain similar to how you described and went to GP. I was sent for a chest X-ray to rule out anything, luckily nothing found and had a clear breast screen last year. I think I was late in putting the patch on so maybe messed with my hormones. I have had the same pain recently but it is because now my GP has stopped the Evorel and I am on a break so has brought on a whole host of symptoms including a bleed. Such fun this meno business!

MayB keep a note of when the breasts are sore and tender as well as what you are wearing?
