Hi everyone.
I would be really grateful for some advice please.
I had terrible thrush for 2 months which only settled with canestan a couple of weeks ago. Am just about to start vagifem but I think thrush is back again. Should I hold off starting the vagifem will it make the thrush worse.
Thank you.

Is it thrush? Have you had a swab? Thrush lives in the back passage so cleaning properly is important to avoid moving it from back to front. I have eaten 'live' yoghurt which eases the whole digestive tract as thrush thrives on sugars.
I would start the 'vagifem', it may ease symptoms by altering the vaginal secretions which should discourage the thrush. Let us know.
If necessary push the capsule thingy in a short way initially, rather than trying to insert fully .

Thank you for your reply.
I had 2 swabs both were negative for everything, but GP said it could still be thrush anyway. Was terrible red & sore all over down there but the canestan cleared it after a long 2 months. Afraid vagifem might make it worse again because I read oestrogen can make thrush worse, is that right?. Ive never used vagifem before. Anxiety making me scared to do anything.

If it took several months to clear your GP should have referred you to a urinary consultant. What are the symptoms?
4 me it was intense itching too high up the vagina to scratch!!! It was when I stopped The Pill, so obviously hormonally linked.

I wonder if I started vagifem could I use canestan cream at the same time?
