Anyone on here take low dose Femoston 1/5 and add a patch to top up E?
-
Hi Flamingo,
I did contemplate this a while back when on Femeston 1/5, but found it such a defective HRT that I didn’t bother.
I would much rather take a higher strength Oestrogen product than top up because the progesterone in femeston, may not be enough to oppose the additional Oestrogen from a patch.

Trouble is I don’t get on with other progesterones :( what Progesterone are you using? I absolutely hate utrogestan x
-
Ah okay.
Does the femeston Conti only come in 1/5 strength?
If you hate utrogestan, what about provera or norethisterone?
I’m trialing a Mirena coil. Time will tell how effective it’s going to be.
Is the Femeston not sufficient for you ?

You can get Femoston at 2/10 (higher dose of both) which would probably be the best first thing to try if 1/5 suits you otherwise....

Femoston 1/5 is the conti version and no there isn’t a higher dose of conti. Femoston 2/10 is sequi. I was on 1/5 for many years but have just switched to a 50 mcg patch and Provera as GP didn’t want to add extra estrogen to the Femoston without progesterone element. X

I wonder if you could just get the 2/10 Sequi and throw out all the estrogen-only patches ;D

Hi Flamingo
My NHS meno specialist wrote to my GP requesting they write a prescription for 2 x 1/5 Femoston conti per day which they subsequently did. Been on it for 4 months so will see how I am in 2 months hence.
Thought you could request this option.
Hope this helps.

Wow, that's a great option. We really need more options and more flexibility with progesterones. I hope it works.
