Title: Sciatic pain

I'm really trying not to look for problems but I've noticed whatever side i put my everol sequi patch, i get sciatic pain in my buttocks.
No pain in legs, calves etc, just where patch is. No burning or allergic reaction on skin.
I recognise the sciatic pain as i had it yrs ago.
Can HRT cause this?

I am not sure if this is of any help but when I put patches on my bottom or lower back I then get terrible back pain. I have to put my patches on the side of my thigh.

Thank you Flossieteacake, that's really helped me. I haven't tried my thigh yet. When i change my patch Monday, I'll try my upper thigh.
Who would've thought it could cause backache? Mine is more backache than sciatic really but said sciatic as it was in my butt cheek.
I feel like a hypochondriac lately, & i promise you I'm not.
I'm so glad i found this forum as I've slowly been going crazy lol

I am constantly thinking I have all sorts of terrible illness due to menopause symptoms. It is like I find a new symptom daily! You are not alone and please do not worry about being a hypochondriac.

It’s like a evil advent calendar isn’t it? Every day a new thing to worry about.

I’ve had sciatic pain on and off since first son born (he’s 30 tomorrow and was a bit of a chonky baby- 8lb 7oz at 5 weeks early ;D).

But it has definitely got worse during peri/ post menopause.

I used evorel patches briefly last year and my GP said thigh as I had existing back problems so there may be something to it.

As oestrogen levels drop so muscles may become lax = aches and pains.

The sciatic nerve root is in the buttock, I can sometimes press mine which hurts.  I have been diagnosed with a bursitis in the same area which affects my whole leg  :-\, exercises were recommend.  Now do I look like some one who would exercise  ;D
