Hi Ladies
Well i am at work and this morning have felt WORSE than ever. I dont know how i made it in. Dizzy, floor moving slightly, heavy head, feeling so spaced out, was staring out the window for like 20 mins! Cant concentrate, think straight, i feel in a dream-like state. To top it all off i nearly vomited in the work loo. Each day i get my blood sugars done -all normal, and blood pressure on the ward - all normal. i am making sure i eat every 30 mins too, small banana, crackers etc.
Called private clinic and all i got from Consultant was "maybe there are other avenues you need to look at" i felt like screaming....this all came on through the 100mg patch (everol). never ever had these symptoms before. Not even on ALL antidepressants - never one side effect. So, after this meaningless phone call, i have ripped my patch off. I simply cant live this way at all, i need to function. I can barely remember getting to work this morning my head is that cloudy.
I told the consultant that i strongly feel the 100mg is too high for me, he said in a passive way, "well you could put 75 on, yes"
So thats what i will do once home later tonight.
Or, my question to you expert ladies - should i give it a few days "patch free" and then put the 75mg on? what you think?
Vicky xxxx

I think going from 100 to nothing may make you feel unwell. I would put 75 on as soon as possible. If you do not have any 75 patches then you could cut a bit off the 100.
How sad a private clinic is being so unhelpful. I thought a private place would be more helpful, not less.

Yes exactly!!! this is the SECOND time i have told him this, and points the finger towards psychiatric issues to blame.....NO WAY. i know my own body, and i know that my AD has not caused any of these symptoms. I went from 50mg Sertraline and worked my way up to 150mg with NO side effects at all.
Thanks for you message, yes i guess i will place the 75mg once home later on. I didnt want to mess about with the dose, but this has become too much over the last 2 weeks. xxx

It is really narrow minded when they symptoms are mental health related when we know they are not. I have been in that situation too. I hope the 75 agrees with you.

Thanks Floss i really appreciate your replies. xxx

Sorry you're going through this Vicky, I'm on 100mg patch of evorel, it's all guesswork. I told my doctor I thought I was on too much oestrogen, but then waited another month and now think it's the progesterone that might be getting to me, it's really hard to tell.
They changed me to continuous (evorel patch and utrogestan), I've only taken one utrogestan because of the asthma and discomfort that occurred on taking it (eased off after a couple of hours but can't live like that, as you say, you need to function)....
At the moment I'm feeling better on the evorel 100mg without utrogestan, but this is temporary until I speak to my doctor as I know you have to have the progesterone.
But it might be that I'm on too much oestrogen too, and it affects me at certain points. I've had 2 months of terrible dizziness, floor moving and postural hypotension. Easing off now my period has started but it's all guesswork.
That's my long winded way of saying you're not alone. I hope you have a better day going forward, and I would put on a 75 patch as soon as you can, the drop in dose should bring some relief if it is too much oestrogen, even if not perfect it'll give you a clue. I wonder would you be able to go into a pharmacy and ask if they would allow you to purchase 1 emergency patch as your's came off...

Hi Kara - thanks so much.
I already have the 75's and 50's at home (very lucky) as i asked for all three incase of wanting to come down etc. WE did pay private for these but we didnt mind at all.
I must admit, since taking it off at around 9.20....i feel ok...a bity better in my head. I will put the 75mg on later. xx

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better, I think I react that way to the vaginal pessaries (strangely enough), but I'm ok if I keep the dose to a certain amount, also it tends to change over time and sometimes there's no reaction. All the best :)

Vicky81 - I feel your pain I really do I have been feeling very similar symptoms to you since starting Evorel 50 10 days ago. In desperation I actually cut a tiny bit off the patch on Sunday and have to say I do feel a bit better today. Its just so hard to know if the dose is too high or too low :( Do hope you start to feel better soon - you really are not alone this is all a total minefield trying to get the dose right xx

What ever you don’t drop from 100 to nothing, else you are likely to feel ill.
I did this at Christmas and went from 75 to nothing and oh my god, it was hell! It was like what I can imagine coming off drugs to be like; jitters, mood swings, bladder issues, crying, angry; just awful.
Definitely try the 75 or cut a quarter off the 100 to see how it feels.
Personally I don’t tolerate the 100, it makes me feel ill.
Best of luck.

Poppa thanks so much,, its just crap isn't it!? I'm glad you feel a biy better hun.
Nas- thanks so much for the tip! I've just had shower and put my 75 on. So I went roughly 8 hours without a patch on....
Wow those are horrific withdrawal symptoms!!!! So glad yiu warned me!
Will update you on the 75! Jeez I really tried to keep it up but I couldn't!!!
-
Nas- are you OK on the 75?
-
The 75 just about suits me. My main symptoms are bladder irritation, low mood , anxiety and irritability. It’s not perfect but any lower and I’m weeing all day and night!!
Remember, we are all different and what works for one, doesn’t necessarily work for that next .
-
Cheers nas...il stick with the 75. Did you get side effects starting the 75?
-
Yes, bleeding and cramps.
I’m having a coil fitted in two weeks though, so hoping that will sort it.
-
Aahh ok I hope so...let me know! Xx
-
Well, since putting the 75 on at 5.30pm last night, i feel sick as a dog at work now, feel faint-like and still spacey....my hands are a bit shaky too. Is this normal?
-
This sounds like anxiety Vicki. Try to work through it if you can
-
Aww thanks Taz, but its deffo physical....i will try and ride it out xx
-
The only reasoni know its not anxiety, is that i have never experienced dizziness ....hand shaking or nausea

Hello Vicky81
I am so sorry that you are having a rough time and my heart goes out to you.
While you are trying to find the right HRT could your doctor prescribe Diazepam to help you ride out the storm?
There was an article in The Guardian recently from the comedienne Jenny Éclair. She was talking about the HRT shortages and said that the combination she uses has calmed her anxiety and stopped her crying all the time. Let's hope that we all find the right balance and enjoy the same benefits as her.
Wishing you well and sending hugs.
K.

HI Kathleen!!!!
Thank you so much for you message.
I already take Clonazepam which i must admit is AMAZING to take the edge off anxiety.
I cant take Diazepam..it makes me too sedated! xxxx
