Title: Advice/info please
Post by: purplebee on April 27, 2022, 11:05:37 AM
Hi everyone, I have been on Evorel Conti 50 mcg for many years. I used to cut my patch in half and have been slowly upping the dose for the last 6 months or so.. Do we need a higher dose of HRT as we get older I'm 71 and started HRT at 53. I have been experiencing some brain fog and a few sweats lately and achy joints - feeling quite stiff when I wake up in the mornings)..any advice would be much appreciated.

As oestrogen levels drop muscles may b become lax = aches and pains.  Is it possible to add an extra half/patch every few days to see if symptoms ease?  Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary useful.  2 chart progress.

Are you on testosterone? Or just estrogen? Do you have a good GP you can discuss this with? Your dosage or needs can change as years pass.

Thank you ladies for your replies. The last time I upped my dose by a very small amount was in early Feb and I have learnt from previous experience it's not wise not to up my dose by too much at a time. I am on Evorel conto so yes, it's combined.

I find that 'nurofen' helps with any need2P symptoms.

I would have thought at 71 your levels wouldn't have changed for many years? I'd be inclined to see your gp in case it's something else.

I've just had a bank of blood tests done - all normal. It was just a thought, intuition.. I may need a bit more.. it's trial and error I guess
