I’ve been fairly stable on my HRT regime for nearly 3 years now. I am 56 and I have the Mirena coil fitted and use oestrogel, 1 pump twice a day. I recently had a smear (my first with a coil fitted) and about 4 days later I had some spotting followed by period cramps 🤔 The cramps have been painful and I can still feel them, it’s now been 2 weeks since I had my smear. I have been back to see the nurse who examined me and she said the coil was still in place and there is no sign of infection.
They have suggested I have a scan if things don’t improve.
I just wondered if anybody else have had a similar experience of this after a smear with the coil in place ☺️
