Title: Postmenopause estrogen and testosterone levelsev
Post by: Loopylou1017 on April 16, 2022, 11:58:25 PM
I had a full hysterectomy over 10 years ago and have been on evorel 100 patches and testosterone. Recently, I have been feeling very irritable. Low mood, night sweats and generally not myself. I had a blood test and my estrogen is 213 and testosterone is  0.2. can anyone tell me if this is normal range.

My "own" testosterone was sitting at 1 before treatment and subsequent bloods. It's now at 2.4 which the specialist described as "nicely mid-range". So, it looks like yours is pretty low? Your symptoms suggest this. Loss of testosterone production with ovaries is grossly understated and often unrecognised; too much emphasis on oestrogen. Your E level might be on the lower side, too, but, postmenopausally, maybe just needs a wee boost? It's a high patch, though, for postmeno, so maybe there are absorption issues and you might want to try a different delivery method? 🤔

Hi Loopylou1017 and Postmeno3!

For the sake of comparison, I'm 57 yo and postmeno.  My dermatologist recently tested my androgen levels.  I'm not using testosterone, so these are my natural current levels.

Testosterone <0.5 nmol/L (Standard Range <2 nmol/L)

Free Testosterone <20 pmol/L (Standard Range <29 pmol/L)

DHEA-Sulphate 2.8 umol/L (Standard Range 0.51-5.56 umol/L)
