I have had the flu for two weeks and my VA is so much worse. I have been using ovestin cream daily for 5 months and sometimes use it twice a day when the pain is bad. It feels like the flu has made my symptoms worse. My skin is very sore and swollen. I am unable to use vagifem and can only use ovestin. I was hoping after 5 months the VA would not be so bad. I am taking paracetamol for the flu symptoms. I do not take ibuprofen as it does not agree with me.

Yes, I would definitely say it will make it worse because your immune system is compromised. Five months using Ovestin is not long, after nine months I am still prone to flare ups.
Increase the dose of Ovestin to three times a day until you feel things are calming down, its what I do when I get flare ups.
Hope you feel better soon :)

Thank you very much, Gracie. Your post has reassured me. :)

Definately, anything that lowers your immune system, illness, covid, stress (certainly stress) will do it. Just double up on your Ovestin and anything else to build your immunity back up.
Check you haven't got thrush as i ended up with this after illness and thought it was a VA flare up, took me 3 weeks to realise it was thrush which also happens when your immune system is compromised.

So important you build up your immune system to avoid any further viruses etc!
Perhaps even a good probiotic👍

Thank you Sweettooth. I actually take optibac everyday probiotics daily for IBS. :)
