Hi, I'm 49 and I only started noticing symptoms in the last year. They soon started racking up though and after the worst bout of insomnia ever I went to the Dr and explained all the symptoms I was initially put on Evorel Sequi. Unfortunately I had a skin reaction to the combi patches so I am now on oestrogen only patches and Utrogestan pills. I haven't had any bleeds yet but I am only coming to the end of my second month of the whole lot so I am waiting to see what happens after the pills.
I also went on some CBT for the insomnia so I am generally sleeping a lot better and I am not getting so many flushes.
I was overweight before I started and I never had any scales (don't want to be a yo-yo dieter like my mum) so I don't know if I am putting on any weight - that would worry me. I guess I can only do my best to stay healthy.

Hi Static girl
Keep at it. Glad your sleeping better, makes a lot of difference doesn’t it?
Try and eat as healthy as you can.
Good luck.

Little steps. I don't weigh myself, my GP does twice a year. I know how I am by the belt on my jeans ;-).
Once you get the HRT sorted, you can then think about how to get rid of any excess: exercise, eating little and often ....... some find weight watchers supportive.
