Hi.. think I'll go back to my g.p. and ask about hrt gel or patches. The thing is I am a little wary as years ago when I first started the menopause I was put on tablet form. Then I developed a cyst in one of my breasts so I was took off it. Is this really a risk..was it a precursor to possible breast cancer? Just had hrt pessaries and felt so much better,no headaches etc..Does anyone have any advice, comments to share?.

Was the cyst examined? Many GPs still hinge on the old - whoops tea time, be back later ::)

Hope tihis is the way to reply...Yes cyst was examined at breast clinic and drew out whatever it is they do with a syringe. Advised to stop HRT so I did. That was about 15yrs ago now, never had cysts since..Just wondered if there was a link.

There may well have been. Did U get any follow up or advice?
MayB keep a mood/food/symptom diary to decide which symptom you would like to ease first. HRT has come a long way in 15 years. Let us know how you get on.

............ many GPs still hinge on the old research results which were disproved. Also, many GPs hinge on any lady that has a relative who has undergone cancer treatment regardless of which type of disease they were treated for.

I don't think there's a link. I've had 2 before hrt, 1 after (convinced it was BC). They told me me cysts are more common at this age and some people seem to be more prone to them. I was advised to stop hrt until the appointment but after they found it was a cyst it was fine to continue.

Decide which symptom you would like to ease first? Take a list ;-) and let us know.
