Title: Thank you
Post by: Heddy on March 18, 2022, 07:01:21 PM
This is just to say thanks very much for accepting me to your forum.
I have already gone through the menopause but had a hysterectomy and removal of ovaries six months ago and seem to be feeling the effects of having no ovaries in that I cry easily, have trouble concentrating at times and feel more grumpy than usual.

I don’t want to go down the route of any hrt, is there anyone else out there going through the same problems.

Thanks, Heddy  :)

Why no HRT?

H(ormone)R(placement)T(therapy).  We often forget the 'word' replacement.

MayB keep a mood/food/symptom diary.  Browse the forum to find out what is available should symptoms become unbearable.  HRT can be taken for Life or can be used to ease symptoms at the time.

Do read the 'bladder issues' and 'vaginal atrophy' threads.  VA really does need treatment of local oestrogen: 4 me it was like razor blades  :o up there: my GP prescribed 'ovestin', others take 'vagifem'.  The idea is to plump up the vaginal area so that it is less sore, itchy, read and uncomfortable.  VA mimics repeated urine infection-type symptoms really really well.   Not to be 'put up with' or ignored ;-)

 :welcomemm: ask away.

What is putting you off hormone replacement? I had hysterectomy and oophorectomy last summer and goodness only knows what state I would be in without hormone replacement. Although you were already in menopause your ovaries would still have been kicking out a certain amount of oestrogen and testosterone and you will notice the difference I'm sure.

We have a thread: doing stupid things: as well as "There's a Strange Woman in my House" that will give you a giggle Heddy.

Brain fog - well I've been like that for years  ::).  I'm a good list maker which sometimes works.
