I still feel that allowing children to be carers is abuse. It must save the government of the day £MKs. Taking away their childhood >:(

A six-year-old girl who started looking after her ill mother when she was just three has picked up a Young Carer of the Year Award.
Alice does everything from helping her mum get into bed to doing the housework.
Her mother nominated her because "she is such a bright, beautiful star and has taken the last three years in her stride."
Alice was presented with the award at a ceremony in Moulton, near Northampton.
Abuse, taking away her childhood :'( :-\

I am sure that have considered this situation fully CLKD.
Quick question, who do suggest is put into care - Alice or her mother?

Neither. There should be social services attending to adults who require constant care, not children stepping in. It's almost as bad as sending kids up chimneys.
Although a child may well become used to 'helping out', it is taking their opporutnies to play, join in with friends, go on school trips. Years ago of course Granny stepped in when families were less widely spread. I know some children don't get to school as often as they should do because they feel that they have to stay home.
I don't actually understand your statement :-\

You do yourself a disservice CLKD, you did answer the question. :)
Surely you don't post without understanding what you are saying - perish the thought.
