Does anyone know if excessive throat clearing and the feeling of a lump in the throat is connected to feeling anxious?
Feels phlegmy but no cough, sore throat or anything.

This could be anxiety but the symptoms could be caused by acid reflux which isn't always associated with heartburn or indigestion. There is a condition called LPR (my son has it) which causes phlegm and a sensation of a lump in the throat. This is an American site but it explains it well https://www.entsurgicalillinois.com/condition-reflux.html
Not everyone has the cough.

Thank you Taz. I have had a really anxious week, not slept or eaten well and it only started a couple days ago so I think it could be that. I will take a look at the website 👍🏻

I hope it's useful. Sorry to hear about your anxious week though.

I have a constant annoying clearing of throat. GP prescribed Omeprazoloe. In recent weeks I've found that both 'coke' and 'ginger' drinks reproduce the symptoms.

Yes you're right CLKD. Carbonated drinks add to reflux problems. I hope the omeprazole works for you. I've been on it for four years now but its not working so well so I've been changed to esomeprazole.

DH is constantly coughing but denies that he has reflux ::)
