Hi
Just had a hysteroscopy and am awaiting the result. The lovely Consultant offered to fit a Mirena at the same time after I explained that I was having to take 200mg Utrogestan daily to prevent break through bleeding. All went well with the insertion but he told me to carry on with the Utrogestan for a fortnight to allow time for the Mirena to kick in. When I got back home and read the leaflet, it seemed to suggest that the Mirena would work straight away for HRT. I feel quite woozy on 200mg of Utrogestan and would prefer not to continue with it unless really necessary. Does anyone else have any experience of this? Thanks

Hi I’ve been on HRT for many years and was on the utro but couldn’t tolerate it. I had a coil fitted a year ago and the gynae didn’t tell me to continue with the utro at the switch over. Just had the coil fitted and stopped the utro on same day.
Don’t know what others might suggest?

I dispersed with utrogestan immediately on having a Mirena inserted.
