Title: Feel worse before better?
Post by: Nik2502 on March 07, 2022, 08:52:25 AM
Hi

I’m really struggling with anxiety and tearfulness. My doctor has increased my sandrena to 100 from 75.

I’ve been using this for a few days and feel worse (didn’t think it was possible!).

Do you feel worse before you feel better?
I’m struggling day to day and my husband - the most patient wonderful man - is struggling to cope with me too.

I feel like this is my life now and it terrifies me.

Any advice would be much appreciated x

It seems the general concensus is to allow three months for full cellular adjustment. I'm struggling with every change, too, but with energy, stamina and subsequent poor motivation. Maybe very early days for you? What stage and age are you, may I ask? Others will be along to join some more dots for you meantime.

Hi Postmeno3

Thank you. I’m 52 and not sure where I’m at - been on HRT in various forms for ten years now after suffering symptoms in my early 40s.

I think I’m expecting a miracle to feel better instantly and have to accept that isn’t going to happen x

When do you apply the gel? Was wondering if you apply in the morning and then feel better as the day goes on that maybe first thing your oestrogen levels are super low then they increase once the gel is applied? If that is the case, maybe put some on last thing at night too. It's something I do from time to time if I notice any waking anxiety and it seems to help.

Also do give it a few more days/ couple of weeks, it is quite common to feel a bit jittery on initial increase.

You could try increasing more slowly to give your body more time to adjust to it. Anxiety is usually low oestrogen but it can also be an adverse reaction to the progestogen. Are you on conti or sequi and if sequi are you different on the oestrogen only phase? It took my anxiety 3 months to go.

Is there such thing as a "best time" to apply this oestrogel??

I am new to this (15 days in) and i have changed to the early evening (around 4.30pm) after my shift is over  - it was too messy at 6.10am!!! Didn't have the time and too tired!!!

Does it make a difference to the absorption??
