Hi ladies
Can anyone throw any light on my awful hormonal ongoing plight?
I started aged 59 last year Estrogen only (no womb or ovaries) levels and symptoms awful on transdermal so went on oral and after 8 weeks last 4 on 2mg & I felt really good for the next 6 weeks it was like coming out of Hell.
Then I got my Covid vaccine and I have been to that Hell & back again and cannot get sorted! My symptoms were really bad in the beginning post jab and although lessoned slightly, I’m still wakening with awful pounding, racing heart, then crying spells like can’t do this anymore, and my headaches have returned as well. My legs are so tired especially in mornings, and sometimes my body feels like it pumping and Iv now got pulse tinnitus which varies in intensity! My specialist says jab has affected my hormone receptors as I had 6 weeks b4 it feeling good and rid of the horrendous anx etc etc.
Are these symptoms Estrogen not working properly yet? I really don’t know it’s just awful, some days it’s very dark for me🥲 my levels are v good over 500.
Evenings are my best time…..
I’m so afraid to change anything😕
Any experiences or thoughts greatly appreciated xx

The vaccines have been known to interfere with HRT. Research is ongoing.
Could you have long-Covid? Or mayB you require a hike in the dosage. Who is administering your regime?

Thanks CLKD! I’m with an Endo though no other hormone stuff only Meno! He said jab has affected my hormone receptors but I’m getting worried now as it’s going on! Not sure how long a vaccine stays! Haven’t had covid thankfully. My symptoms are like pre HRT and when I think I’m turning a corner, back it comes! So tearful this evening🥲 thank you x

I have pulse tinnitus too. It started in September. I went to have my ears syringed and thought that may be the cause but its still here.....

A lot of women seem to get it during menopause. I had increased my hrt and reduced very suddenly and it just came on! X

My bloods came back normal today.
Dr Ball (Newson Health) rang and said that a number of women are experiencing problems with HRT after the Covid vaccine for 3-4 months and it is being investigated. Doesn’t help me from feeling rubbish though! X

Was there a suggestion of upping/lowering the regime?

Yes Nik, I have heard this too, thing is it’s almost a year for me now and I can’t get sorted. I’m very down this morning🥲 Keep trying to be positive but sooo hard. My headaches are back, crying spells, anxiety etc, all that hrt had sorted! I thought I would be better by now. Don’t have anything else to bother me but can’t enjoy life it’s a daily struggle. Apparently it’s a receptor issue.
There’s a video with Nick Panay and Diane Danzebrink on FB about this.
I’m so worried that I won’t get better and would love to hear from ladies that are seeing signs of improvement or have altered their hrt to help! Iv no ovaries so depending on hrt to function!
So grateful for any replies❤️❤️

Possible scope to increase oestrogen and going home use testosterone every other day for a trial x

Nik my tablet was doubled at one stage but I felt terrible! Unless I keep on the 2mg and top up another route to see if that helps?
It’s soul destroying when I found a regime that suited me. Did Dr Zoe increase you? Tk u x

I’ve discovered through trial and error that I often feel better if I cut down my oestrogen. I have similar symptoms which too much as not enough - mainly tearfulness and anxiety.
You could try gel to top up with - it gives you flexiblity just to even try a little extra.
She’s suggested an increase but I’m going to hold off until I trial the testosterone every other day - as level is normal but much higher for me than it has ever been x

Hi Nik,
Feeling much better again without any adjustment, seems to almost be a cyclical thing even though I’m way post Meno! It’s like going through the whole process pre hrt but at snails pace!! I have decided to not adjust anything and let this run it’s course, improving but annoyed how long it’s taking! Still palps in morns but can deal with all that as long as mood ok. I think you are doing the right thing by not increasing x

Hi Sweettooth, I was interested to hear that you take oral oestrogen as I have had my ovaries out too and take oestrogel. What oral oestrogen do you take?
-
Hi Gnatty
I take zumenon. How are you finding estrogel? X

Mostly ok I think! I also take a good amount of testosterone as my FAI is only 1.1. Apparently if I can get these levels up it should help with anxiety. I am currently taking a low dose of Mirtazapine ( started after my operation last summer). Although I have been told that at 15 mg it won't be doing anything for anxiety only helping with sleep. I think I would like to come off the M and reassess where I am. My only other thought is I have heard some women without a womb still find they feel better with progesterone as it has a calming effect. I may discuss this at my next Newson appointment.
Having said all that I am way way better than post op. It's been quite a journey. Sounds like maybe the same for you?
