Title: I just need to know there’s hope
Post by: Nik2502 on February 15, 2022, 08:47:42 AM
Just venting really…..

Since Christmas I’ve felt awful. Anxiety and low mood at its worst  :'(
My GP increased my antidepressant but I’m not depressed - I just feel flat. Is this life from now on?
I’m under Newson Health and currently awaiting the results of blood tests to see her my hormone levels are (I’m on estradot 75, Provera 5mg and Androfemme)
My husband doesn’t know what to do or say any more. I just sit and cry in the evening and I don’t even know why!
I started a new job in January that I could do in my sleep yet I sit and shake the whole two days I’m there.
Really I could just do with a hug and be told it’ll be okay x

Hi

I was prescribed testosterone with symptoms like yours but I was also experiencing sudden bouts of exhaustion. I would be doing something which required moderate energy and suddenly I would have to sit down thoroughly drained and breathless. You're speaking to the right people at Newson so I'm sure they will sort you out in no time. Have you looked at the advice for husbands?

Hello Nik2502

I am so sorry that you are suffering and I completely understand how you feel. I am post meno and using HRT from Newson Health but I still have mood issues and crying spells.

My doctor at Newson Health assured me that these experiences are very common and that they can be treated successfully, it just takes some time and effort. I took some comfort from that and I hope you do too. You are not alone and this will pass.

Take care and sending hugs.

K.

Thanks everyone. GP has agreed to do bloods on Monday to forward to Newson for advice. Will just hang on until then and see what they say.
It’s just so hard feeling flat and tearful all day x

Are these the meno symptoms you had before? If so perhaps your own supply has decreased so you need a higher dose. Hopefully the blood tests will shed some light on it.

Do you mean Dr Newson?

Blood tests of course are reliably un-reliable  ::).  Which AD are you taking, some do help with hormonal upheaval = increase in anxiety levels.  Which an appropriate anti-anxiety medication or beta-blocka may help whilst HRT kicks in.

How were your moods during your regular menstruating years?  I would feel awful in the week prior to a bleed  :-\.  Yes, there is hope!  The Change - does what it says on the tin  >:(

Let us know how you get on.

It’s awful.  You know your own body so don’t let them say that your Estrogen is normal when you still have symptoms.  You won’t know your normal level unless you are well then test your levels, fluctuations can muddy the water.

Thanks ladies.

I’ve always suffered horrendous PMT with low mood, crying and anxiety for about 2 weeks if the month.
I’m under the care of Dr Ball at Newson health and she thinks I may need my testosterone increased too.
She said research is showing that women on HRT are being affected for 3-4 months after Covid vaccines - had mine before Christmas - and may need a change in medication.
I’m nearly 52 now and do wonder if my own hormone levels have dropped significantly? X

There was an article a couple of weeks ago which some copied from the Sat paper, regarding testosterone for women. Well written ......... I will try to remember to bounce it.

So sorry you having such a hard time.

Have you been tested for thyroid issues at all?

One of my friends had some similar issues to you, thought it was menopause when it turned out the real culprit was thyroid (she was gong through menopause also) .

Hope you can get some help soon x

Hi
Sorry you are not feeling good at the moment.  I've been on the everol conti patches for five years  but I still didn't feel right with  that.  I was still experiencing night sweats and low libido.  I just thought I had to put up with it.  My husband encouraged me to get in touch with Newson Health, I've been on ineased estrogen and Androfemme for three weeks now and feel better.  It's been very hard getting the correct HRT right over the years.
All the best to you
 xx

Thank you. My bloods all came back normal. Newson  Health have suggested a slight increase in oestrogen but I’m going to try and use my Androfemme every other day and see how I get on - it’s within the normal range bit high for me x
