Title: Oestrogen levels dropped on estradot
Post by: JazzyJ on February 14, 2022, 01:56:32 PM
I started oestrogel (with utrogestan) last April and it took until December for my oestrogen level to reach 123 (from zero as I'm 8 years post meno), which apparently is not high enough.
My Dr then recommended doubling my dose to four pumps but as the gel takes ages to dry on me I asked whether a patch would be easier.
I've been on Estradot 100 since Christmas and just had my blood test again which shows my levels have dropped to 44  :(.
Has this happened to anyone else?? What am I doing wrong?? I just dont seem to be good at absorbing!

I hear you. You might need to tweak the time of application or location. For many, it's a quite difficult thing to get things as balanced as possible. It may be you need a different delivery method still, like Lenzetto which seems to be finally improving things for me, but testosterone has been an important addition I'm about to start. Good luck!

Some people do absorb differently so perhaps ask for a different brand or try the increased dose of gel. If you don't absorb any transdermal hrt you could try an oral one.

Jazzy, I too am in desperate need to increase my blood estradiol levels and have asked about this on my own thread.

In your case I would say that the patch is something I wouldn't continue with. However perhaps one should always wait a full three months on a new regime and then re-measure blood levels if that's something you are able to do.
If the gel takes a long time to dry on you and you need more than 2 pumps then perhaps you could try Lenzetto spray or Sandrena gel, both of which have less "volume" for the same amount of active ingredient?
From my reading blood levels of estrogen need to be at least 300 pmol for bone protection and quite a bit higher than that for anyone suffering hormonal depression.
