I’ll try to explain best I can, but I’m not good at finding correct wording for things
64 way past post menopause, No HRT
So past couple days I’ve not felt right (well right for me) my vagina just as you go inside feels hot and my stomach doesn’t feel right like sensitive, off(not bowels)
It doesn’t hurt when I wee, water just feel hotter than normal.
It doesn’t itch, and know it’s not cystitis
I put some YES lube in in case it’s far too dry and if ? That’s the cause ??
I can’t switch off from it and with chronic anxiety in the mix , it’s not helping one but with current feelings
Anyone know what I’m going on about ?
Said I was crap at explaining :-\

Hello Dane. Have you heard of vaginal atrophy? From what I have read in your post it reminded me of it. I have it myself. It is when there is a lack of oestrogen. It can be helped by using a cream such as ovestin or vagifem. Like you, I struggle to explain things too. You are not alone. :)

You're making sense to me! Your urine flow will be body temperature. "YES" lubrication may well help applied gently, on a regular basis. As will treatment as suggested. It may take a few weeks to ease symptoms. If you feel a nip when you pee, mayB take something like 'nurofen', 2 capsules 3 times a day.
I would ring your Surgery and ask for vaginal atrophy treatment, they may want a urine sample first which must be sent to a Lab. to check for any bugs. These may require treatment with an antibiotic and by 'growing' the bug in a Lab., the correct medication can be prescribed.
Hormones can alter bowel regularity. As can anxiety >:(
Do read the vaginal atrophy thread. One doesn't have to feel dry inside in order to have atrophy, which is usually caused by a drop in oestrogen levels.
Let us know how you get on.

Thank you ladies
I rang the surgery to ask can I do a wee sample to rule anything out
From the way she was taking to me I could tell it was going to lead to a telephone consultation
So with feeling like s… my anxiety levels rose and I got a weird feeling like something was draining out of me. I can only think this might of been my breathing causing this feeling ???
Anyway nurse rang back in 15mins
Asked me lots of questions and said she’d have a word with duty doctor and to take sample of wee to the surgery
A test message to say prescription was at chemist.
Just been to get it
It’s Vegifem 10 micrograms
Is this classed as HRT ??
Never been on it, as said 64 now, is there anything I need to do/look out for??
Or anything else

It is Hormone Replacement Therapy. Designed specifically to treat vaginal atrophy. 'vagifem' or 'ovestin' are the medications usually prescribed, there are others coming on stream . The idea is to insert it for 14-16 nights, then twice a week or 'as necessary'. Sometimes in the first few months 1 needs to do a 'reload', i.e. back to every night for a week or two.
It might sting initially. If you can't insert it fully, then simply put the applicator into the outer vaginal area so that over the nights it softens. If it is uncomfy, then use alternative nights. The quicker the preparation is up there, the easier the vagina will become. Some find that 'ovestin' is required for the outer labia, others use 'yes' or 'sylc' products. It's Trial and Error!
Let us know how you get on. Your GP seems to be on the ball, hang onto her ;D

No, Vagifem is not usually referred to as HRT. It is local oestrogen, so only absorbed in the genitourinary area. If you have any other menopause symptoms, it won't help those.
Hope the Vagifem helps, let us know how you get on :).

Local oestrogen is also referred to as topical oestrogen.
