Post by: Carrie on December 19, 2021, 09:27:09 PM
Hi I’m wondering can you get PMT on HRT? I have been irritable increased appetite and weight, bloated and today noticed slight bleeding. Looking back over my last few days it’s like pmt? Also boobs were sore and felt joint pain

Yes it's possible. Evorel made me feel like this. What HRT are you on?  :)

I’m on everol patch 50 mcg and I have the coil in since Oct. I was on estrodot patch but chemist couldn’t get it last month. I am getting flushes again too. What do ye think I should do. I am feeling completely so peed off as I thought HRT was the answer.

Yes you can experience PMT type symptoms on HRT.
The symptoms might calm down for you, as this is a different type of patch, give it time I would.

Yes you can, Agnus Castus is a very good supplement for PMT with or without HRT

I don't think you can use Agnus Castus if you are on HRT.

 :thankyou:

How is your diet overall?  When I was ill with PMT - which occurs prior to a bleed, not after.  I was advised to eat every 3 hours, 24/7.  To ease that awful hunger surge when the body runs out of energy.  It began in my mid-30s and made me feel really really ill.

MayB have a look at your diet and how much liquid intake daily?  Then adjust depending on when you feel 'off'.  Slow release foods: bananas, porridge, ginger biscuits, dried fruits/nuts have sustained me for years.  If my body lacks energy suddenly I go into panic mode  :'(

I initially bought this line when I started HRT and therefore stopped taking the agnus castus though my research never came up with tangible sources for the claim that the two are incompatible. Then, noticing that I experienced exactly the same PMS symptoms as before, I reintroduced it and felt better again.
Cut to this year when I finally got a consultation at Nick Panay's NHS clinic: I told them I was taking it and they said it was absolutely fine and could indeed be helpful.
I'm sooner go along with my own experience and the opinion of one of the country's leading menopause specialists than with vague claims about HRT and agnus castus being imcompatible.
