Title: HRT & stiff joints
Post by: Baldrick11 on December 18, 2021, 05:01:29 PM
Hi All,

I am 51 and been on Evorol sequi (50 of estrogen) for one year due to having hot flushes and mood changes.

I have recently started to experience stiff finger and toe joints, my doctor tested for arthritis and low vitamin D both are fine. I know stiff joints can be a symptom of menopause but thought HRT improved this.

Has anyone else experienced stiff joints on HRT? Do you think and increase in estrogen would help?

Thanks for any thoughts

Yes indeed, it's quite common to need more oestrogen as we get a bit older and experience even lower levels of our own oestrogen. You could gradually increase up to 100 but you may not need to go that far. Joint pain I think resolves quite quickly once you are on the right dose.
