I thought HRT was supposed to help VA, not trigger it?!!!
I haven't had it officially diagnosed, but it's dry, inflamed, sore, itchy with discharge, and I've seen on several websites that these are the symptoms. Today the skin is cracked.
I had it years ago, and a derm and a gynie could never work out what it was, I bet it was VA back then, but they probably thought I was too young. Lichen S was never diagnosed and the gynie thought it was low iron, so I had an ablation, which put it into remission until now (my iron hasn't gone up at all).
Has the HRT caused a hormonal shift? I've made a docs appt at the weekend and hope to get something for it. I'm so sad it's come back after a few years without it.

It may be coincide if you had symptoms previously.
Get some treatment which is for Life. 'vagifem' or 'ovestin' are often prescribed. To be used for 2-3 weeks initially. Do read the 'bladder issues' and 'vaginal atrophy' threads.
Make notes ;-). Don't be fobbed off by the Dr.!

Thanks. Yes, it could be a coincidence. I really thought it had gone for good. Maybe it will even out a bit. I'm seeing a private GP at the weekend, as I can't get near the NHS one. He also prescribed the HRT - with no probs, I'm sure he'll be fine with local oestrogen too. He's well read up on it, unlike the NHS ones!
