Ladies,
Any positive posts on hrt eradicating early morning adrenaline?
Please only post successful outcomes….feeling very fragile at present.
Many thanks in advance x

It's usually caused by the hormone cortisol. My GP prescribed Propranolol to ease the early morning anxiety surges. I would wake any time after 3.00 a.m. terrified. The BB helped a lot. I haven't taken HRT other than for VA.

Tks clkd, I am on high dose prorananol. What time did u take yours? Tks

Initially: 2002 : I was on 80mg 3 times a day for 3 weeks. Then dropped to 40mg twice a day, after 6 months down to 20mg twice a day. After a few years I dropped to 20mg at night, in 2020 I stopped.

Hi,
Woke up with anxiety, heart racing and nausea- I thought on no i have a bug. Then when looked at my HRT packet realised that I had missed last night's dose - so yes it can effect anxiety positively- but too much can cause anxiety - start low and increase slowly is my advice. Also Progesterone if you get the right one for you can have a sedative effect, which some ladies like.

Tks CLKD I am n one dose 160 but heart racing like the clappers when I wake up!
Pepperminty, you could be abs right Re too much estrogen!! My estrogen had been increased due to recurring symptoms after my vaccine and I felt really wired up at times, I am now in process of reducing but have to do it v slowly so fingers crossed reduction to my original level will do the trick!
Thanks ladies x

CLKD I take it in the morning but it’s a capsule, though I could ask for it to be divided?? Wud that be an idea? X

You could ask a pharmacist if there are smaller capsules?

I was waking at 4/5 with crippling anxiety. Started venlafaxine nearly 2 weeks ago. It’s more or less gone.
I also took an antihistamine called phenergan at night for a week or so, it really helped calm my nerves and nausea… but left me very sleepy for the day.
I’m not on HRT x

Yes I will ask for propranolol to be divided in dose👍
Suzi that’s interesting Re the anti histamine thank u!

It's about managing the medication so that we get the most benefit.
