Title: "Open" appointment for twelve months.
Post by: Postmeno3 on October 01, 2021, 01:43:57 PM
Hi,
I'm a bit baffled by this system at my NHS specialist clinic. It seems to suggest that three monthly reviews aren't strictly part of the plan and that everything stops anyway after a year which, certainly in my case, is a drop in the ocean with what needs to be addressed and monitored? Maybe you need to be re-referred after a year? I'm very confused, but when I sought clarity, was told that it's "in case you don't need us"? Anyone else in this position? It all feels terribly ill-defined and uncertain at the moment and I'm really hoping I've got the wrong end of the stick!  🤞

One should be able to access GP services daily.

Some Consultants have a method of, if the patient needs advice or examination within a 12 months time scale of the original referral, they don't have to go through their GP.  Which saves time for all concerned.
