Hello
Please can someone out there help me?
Only had my full hysterectomy mid july 21so week 6 of recovering. Been given oestogel for hrt, but its already giving me a terrible metalic taste in my mouth headaches and blisters in my armpits! Should i stop it and just battle through with the insomia and hairloss. Will it pass? Feel so ill informed!,
Thanks Debs x

Hi Debs. I hope your recovery from your hysterectomy is going well apart from these side effects.
Have you mentioned these problems to your GP just to rule out any other cause? I think headaches can be linked in to oestrogen replacement but I'm unsure of the metallic taste and also the blistering which, to me, sounds like possible allergy. How many pumps of the gel are you on and is the blistering only in your armpits and not where you apply the gel?
Finding the right HRT can take some time but there's loads of information and support on here.

I think you should see your gp too. You don't say how old you are but you should be on hrt at least until your early 50s to protect your bones and heart. If you don't get on with gel there are other options. You may find you need to add testosterone.
