Hello, I was prescribed Estradiol .06% gel and Utrogestan a few months ago, but haven't started it yet. Prescription says the utrogestan(2 tablets) is to be taken from day 1 to day 14 of calendar month???I'm 48, peri, and my periods are irregular, haven't had one for nearly 2 months. I am really unsure as to when to start taking the progesterone part of the prescription, if my periods are irregular and I don't have a set cycle ? Can anyone advise please? So difficult get a gp appointment!

Hi you should take the Utrogestan on days 15-26 of your cycle. Day 1 is the first day of your period. After that start the Utrogestan on the same date of every month.
If your periods are irregular then I think you start the oestrogen and count that as day 1 and start the Utrogestan on day 15. I think that’s right but someone else may now if it’s the best way. x

I had the same problem and it is difficult. Can you tell when you ovulate? If you can starting utro a couple of days later will keep the hrt cycle in step with your own. If you don't ovulate for a month then take it anyway.
