Hi , I’m continuous on Estrogel & progesterone, 9 weeks in and I’m feeling absolutely crap & exhausted
Im not sleeping well at night it’s terrible
I started on one pump as advised and have worked my way up to two , I usually apply on my upper arms in the morning
I was really hoping that HRT would make me feel better
Any advice please

Hi did you feel like this before you started the hrt ? X

R U on any other meds.? My anti-depressant medication causes busy, involved dreams and I wake exhausted every morning. Some days I feel sleepy all day.
R U working? I am lucky in that I can sleep when necessary. It makes a big difference to how I feel and rarely interferes with night time.

I felt tired & had sleep problems but nothing like this I’ve got to push through the day no energy , I am on 5mg of bp as well but I was taking them long before hrt
I don’t work but doing every day things is exhausting

Hi Trixie. I get much more tired on hrt than off it. I've reduced my dose to 1 or 2 pumps of gel but if I skip a day I have much more energy.
All I can say is oestrogen does not provide some of us with more energy, quite the reverse, I'd say. I'm trying to reduce it as low as possible without my VA giving me hell. It's annihilated my anxiety though, probably as I'm too knackered to care what happens, lol.
Sorry to be unable to help. Maybe it will improve in time for you?
BTW, what is BP?

Hi , I must admit after 9 weeks of HRT I’d feel better but my sleep is worse my achey joints still ache & I’m completely exhausted .
The options of HRT & dosage confuse me .
I’ve read that the max dose of Estrogel pumps is 4 I’m taking 2 pumps & oral progesterone, the menopause Dr said that I could take it vaginally because I feel groggy in the morning .
I am worried about my bones , heart etc as lack of estrogen can cause health issues but I at the moment I feel like stopping it . Oh bp is blood pressure meds

It is usually the progesterone that causes problems. You could try a sequi regime for a 2-3 months to see if you feel good when you're only on oestrogen. What is the progesterone? Utrogeston makes many people dopey. Some post meno women use a long cycle sequi regime as this gives them more 'good' time than a conti regime.
