Hi so I've just started on hrt after 3 years post menopause and felt the best I've felt for years. I started to bleed after one month on elleste 2mg. Can't get an appointment for another 2 weeks to see doctor I've just read above that this is normal and it will settle after 3 months. So should I just keep going or stop now totally confused

Carry on I suspect.
Is there a leaflet in the box? If you can, put the product name into the search box on the forum to see what pops up, make notes ;-).

Hi Ambeth
Yes bleeding is normal for first 3-6 months.
Have you been prescribed a progesterone too ? x

Hi thank you for advice. I've learnt a bit more. I'm only on the white tablet so I'm assuming no to progesterone.
Doctor I saw did admit he didn't know anything about menopause and had to go off flow charts to prescribe.
I've got an appointment with horse practitioner. Hopefully that will be better

Hi Ambeth. Do you still have your womb? Are the tablets Elleste Duet Conti ? Or Elleste Solo ? Sorry for all the questions, but it’s important to find out if you are on the correct tablet. X

Don't think they prescribe hrt to horses, she may not know... ;)

Hi dotty yes I still have a womb and it's the Elestte conti duo. Sorry Sheila thats nurse practitioner.

Hi Ambeth …. You’re on the correct HRT then. Sorry for all my questions but so many ladies have been incorrectly prescribed.
So, the hrt you have been given has oestrogen and progesterone continuously so you shouldn’t bleed. However, bleeding can be expected for the first 6 months and is nothing to worry about. After that time bleeding would need to be checked by a doctor . xx

Hi Ambeth. I hope the bleeding soon settles down for you.
