Hi can anyone help or shed any light/share experiences. My blood recently showed estrodiol levels as 1795 pmol. Apparently this is high. My Meno doc
Didn’t say much except to mention there is a condition called tachyphylaxis but also said if I feel ok on 100mg Estradot to Continue but if I didn’t feel any better to decrease to 75mg for a while. Not much real guidance so I’m now a little worried about this high level and what to do next. I’m Aware Of fluctuations in peri but she didn’t mention this or reassure me that could just be fluctuations etc so now I’m a little worried about the level. Does anyone have any experience of the same and high estrodiol levels showing up? This was my first blood test. Just feel a little lost again and wondering what to do !

Hi JMargaret - if you are peri-menopausal and still ovulating then it is pointless carrying out blood tests because estradiol levels rise and fall throughout the cycle and reach a high peak around ovulation. That level is within the range of the ovulatory peak - maybe at the high end? Why did she do the blood test? Normally on NHS these would not be carried out and women are advised to go by symptoms. If there was no reason for the blood tests other than just monitoring - I would stop worrying and if you feel well - then great!
