I know 4 people that have it and they don’t know each other :(
-
.......... :-\ ........... I know people who have been very ill who have had both been vaccinated. It is what it is. Wear masks. Wash hands. Keep away from others.
Apparently Boris ins't going to isolate even though one of his work Team has tested +ive - but those returning from Mexico have to go into quarantine ..........

Lots around and I'm waiting to catch it as that seems inevitable if I want to lead a fairly normal life. :-\What ages are they and have they had the vaccine and how are they?

How did they catch it littleminnie: out and about in crowds; did they wear masks etc.? Our neighbour and his daughter had it months ago, poorly for a few weeks then back to their routines. "worse than 'flu" .
-
Masks don't prevent you catching it but do have some effect on you not passing it on if you've got it.
Were your neighbour and daughter fully vaccinated? I'm trying to work out who's catching it and feeling really ill.

Yes, it does seem inevitable doesn’t it, if we’re trying to get our lives back to some normality. No stopping it I’m afraid.
I’m dreading catching it, if I ever do of course, but since I’ve been jabbed twice, I’m hopeful.
Scares us all I think.

Two have had 1 vaccine. Ages - 20’s and 40’s. One caught it at family get together
One has had 2 vaccines Age 60’s. Caught at a wedding.
Not sure about the 4th but in her 30’s
The one in their 20’s has every symptom plus vomiting and diarrhoea

My friend and husband have a son still living at home at 26 due to mental illness. They have both been fully vaccinated and both have medical conditions that make them vulnerable. However, the son refuses to be vaccinated. They asked their other son to try and persuade him to be vaccinated, but he continues to refuse. On the face of it, I would say I love you, but you have to move out under these circumstances, but it is highly unlikely they will do this. And no, he doesn’t have a needle phobia. He says it’s his right to say no. What would you do?

Young men went to War: twice : to give us the right to decide.
MayB these people who won't get jabbed should talk to those now in Hospital, who also said 'no'. I read about a man aged 42 who was under the impression that the body heals itself: he's now on his way to the crematorium. Although fit, a triathlete, C-19 got him.
In their case extreme hygiene needs to be carried out: everyone have their own towels, flannels etc. - would the son be more amiable rather than being 'told'. If possible, he has his own bathroom and the parents if there's an en-suite? The likelihood of them catching the Virus is how likely Ju Ju? Does the son go out and about?
My friend refuses to have the jab being of 'the body heals itself' attitude. I would be keener on over all vaccination if the Germ targeted could be irradiated i.e. smallpox.

I have three friends who have refused vaccination. Two in their early thirties and one in his seventies. The younger ones are worried about future fertility and can find no reassurance that it won't be affected. The older one because he has never had vaccinations for anything apparently. My disabled daughter in law's carers have also refused and are all willing to leave their jobs when it becomes mandatory for them to receive the vaccine. :-\

Clkd, no en-suite and standards in hygiene rather less than usual to be polite. The son does not go out much, but while that limits the opportunity to catch Covid, it takes only one opportunity to catch it.
You cannot predict how someone will react to this virus. People who seem to be vulnerable survive , while those who you would have thought would be fine, die.

We've been out for a meal with vaccinated friends, to a restaurant we've been to before, and it was busier than. We've ever seen it and there seemed to be more tables in there. We're not doing it again until it feels safer. Back to staying in. seeing friends at a distance and taking all the precautions. Can't see a return to normality yet. Still too many people catching it.

Accept it. His body, his choice. I mean if they're shielding and can guarantee this is the only unvaccinated person they're coming into contact with, then maybe something different, but I somehow doubt this is the case. Also, obviously, they always have the option to move. Presumably it's the family home, so here's got as much right to be in it as they have.

I know a 5th person now. :-\
When all this started and there were a lot more cases I didn’t know anyone that had it.
-
What's your concern?
-
That at the beginning I didn’t know anyone who had it and now I know 5 all at once!!
-
R U in face2face contact with any of them? The people that I avoid are those who mention 'sick', which is why I intend to continue with my 😷 LOL. I don't mix with enough people to know of any1 who might/not have been infected, other than the neighbours.
We never know who is walking around with seasonal 'flu do we? Until they announce that they have "been ill with 'flu but continued in work" >:(. MayB this virus will encourage people with colds etc. to STAY AT HOME .........
-
I work with one of them. That’s the problem, people have to work and so it will spread.
-
What precautions R U able to take at work? Have you been jabbed?
-
Yes double jabbed. Mask on when walking about. Plenty of gel and hand washing. Can’t do much more really.
-
I have yet to meet someone that has had covid, I'm sure that will happen sooner than later :-\
Speaking of non-vaxxers, one of dh's brother's and his wife are refusing to get vaccinated. During the pandemic they've been emailing links to everyone in the family information about why the vaccine is dangerous and we've been duped by the government to take it...blah blah blah. Their 3 adult kids are all vaccinated, after having some difficult discussions. They all live out of the house, except the oldest who has been home from London since the spring and plans to fly back mid-September.
The big concern now is the kids going back to school in the midst of the rising Delta variant case numbers. Only ages 12+ are able to get jabbed and that's fine for high school. That leaves the primary and elementary school kids vulnerable. And, it's not mandatory for the teachers to be vaccinated. ::) The government announced plans for school re-opening but most are pretty upset that it is not going to be enough.
-
Young children either get it very badly or hardly notice symptoms ::)
There's a bit in the News today about using a magnet 'to find the microchip which was inserted with the jab.' - well microchips don't react to magnets ;D
What R these people 'on'? They should stay at home and keep Big Job Shut ?

Received a text supposedly from the NHS saying I had been in contact with someone with Covid and should click on a link for a PCR test. As I have only been in contact with family in the last few days, the wording didn’t look right, the time it was sent and the link suspicious, I didn’t do anything. Checked with my daughter, who immediately said scam. Have reported to phishing.gov.uk. So beware.
-
I don't have a 'phone that does apps. I would never have signed up for this particular app either.
Good that you are able to report it.

One of the bigger providers of Covid PCR test kits has responded after images of overflowing drop boxes were shared online.
The firm, Randox, said it was increasing the number of drop boxes and the frequency of box collections.
The move comes after people posted pictures of returned test kits piled high on top of drop boxes in Sutton and Hampstead over the weekend. One MP said the "pointless" tests were "becoming a bad joke".
At least one PCR test is required for all arrivals from international destinations within two days of landing in the UK.
Those returning from green listed countries, or who are fully vaccinated and returning from amber list countries, are required to take only one.
However, those not fully vaccinated from amber list destinations must take at least two tests, one on day two and one on day eight.
-
Don’t have to do the day 8 test now, but have to test 2 days before leaving. I know cos son and family live in the USA and are here. Over 5s had to be tested, which was stressful and 3 year old will have to be tested to go home. It’s expensive too.
By the way, I never had the track and trace app. The text I got didn’t look right and I am suspicious of strange texts and emails. A random phone number, sent at 11 at night, no mention of track and trace and the link looked suspicious. But it did bother me when I first read it, until common sense reigned.
If the emails in my junk mail were true, I would be very, very rich!
