I started oestrogel (1 pump AM & PM) on Saturday (31st July) and have had horrible gastrointestinal issues all week (nausea, diarrhea and bloating). I will stick with it for now because I'm already feeling the benefits despite this...and maybe this will pass!
How long do you think you should persevere with a new medication before you throw in the towel?
Has anyone had a similar experience with oestrogel?

Me - I would have given up by now :-\. Would dropping to 1 a day ease symptoms initially? Did U have nausea previously?

Kate
Would it be possible to contact doctor or pharmacist to see if there is anything you could take to help.

Didn't have any gastro symptoms before, no
I will speak to someone today about reducing to one pump
Thanks for your input, I was starting to think I was worrying unnecessarily ::)

I’m super sensitive to any meds and started on one pump oestrogel and moved up to two after a few weeks. I know some people jump straight onto two but it’s ok to start on a half pump or one and work your way up.

UPDATE: Well, I went down a dose and although the gastric symptoms reduced the symptoms I had before HRT came back.
Went back to the Doc's yesterday and now I am back up to two with a high dose of Imodium! Fingers crossed my system sorts itself out! :-\

If it doesn't settle soon I would try a patch instead though it might be that by increasing gradually you can get the benefits without the side effects. You could try 1.5 pumps for a couple of weeks.
