Title: Stopping HRT midway through cycle
Post by: JoannFran on July 14, 2021, 08:18:01 PM
Hi

This is my second time trying HRT (estrogel and utrogestan) but I am now on day 20 (day 5 of the utrogestan) and I'm absolutely dreading taking it tonight.  I've been using it vaginally (100mg) in the hope that there wouldn't be any side effects but I feel awful.  Really low and terrible headaches and upset stomach.  This also happened the last time I tried to take it orally and I was hoping it would make a difference vaginally, but it hasn't  :(

I've come to the conclusion that HRT is not for me as I seem to be so sensitive to progesterone.  I remember feeling dreadful years ago when I had the mirena coil.

My questions is, is it ok if stop the HRT now when I'm on day 20?  Will it do any harm?  I can't cope with feeling like this for another 10 days.  Just wondered if anyone had stopped HRT midway through a cycle?

Many thanks.
