Hi I had a hysterectomy with my ovaries removed too be 4 weeks ago this wednesday. After 4 minute telephone conversation with my GP about HER now I'm in surgical menopause she agreed to start me on Oestrogen only HRT. Was commenced on Estraderm MX 25. Said will be reviewed in 3 months. Just concerned as says on leaflet for women who are postmenopausal which I'm not and had their last natural period over 12 months ago mine was just over a month ago! Didn't know whether to ring GP monday or is a gone else on these for same reason please?

I was also on Estraderm for a while and I was not postmenopausal. It’s an alternative to the other estradiol patches and not specifically for postmenopausal.

As you have had your ovaries and uterus removed and are now in surgical menopause, it is essential to start replacing your lost oestrogen asap. Any form of transdermal oestrogen replacement (or even oral, depending on circumstances) will do the job. I hope your recovery goes well.
