My brain fog is very much better since I've been on hrt but my brain still isn't what it used to be. If brain fog was one of your symptoms and you're on hrt has it gone completely, gone partially or still just as bad?
-
Mine is due to anti-depressant medication as well as very busy, involved dreams which leave me hung over and muggy. Some days I cannot think straight. People can talk 2 me and it goes over my head ? that kind of brain fog ? - I must look stupid sometimes :-\
Other than VA treatment, no HRT.

Hi Sheila99
I hope more people respond to your question as I am interested to know this also.
I have been on HRT for only three mo.this and cant feel much improvements in any of my symptoms so far. Brain fog is a huge issue for me too xxx

Hi Sheila, mine has improved on HRT, but I wonder have you noticed any difference in degree of brain fog between the two phases of your cycle? I ask because I find my memory, spelling etc seem worse on the MPA phase. Thought I remembered you are on a sequi regimen, but been lost in a fog of MPA last few days. That's my excuse anyway ;D

Hi Sheila,
Only 11 days in so can’t say for sure .. my head has been clearer but it may be coincidence or temporary.
I have very bad brain fog (I have ME) so any improvement will be greatly appreciated.
This should be an interesting post.

I’m on evorel sequi and found brain fog much better on first 2 weeks, but now into second 2 weeks and it’s reared it’s head again somewhat along with being in a really bad mood!

I think mine is better. I have taken on two new roles in the last six months or so that involve fast, accurate counting and record-keeping and I seem better able to do this.

My brain fog lifted somewhat after starting on testosterone gel, however, I’m still not back to where I used to be. It’s usually far worse in a morning. I’m just hoping that it will right itself in time as it is a scary symptom and I feel it undermines your confidence. Before the T gel, I felt I had half a brain capacity almost overnight as I turned 52 and my oestrogen level fell to the floor. Men will never know what we go through. Like Davina and many more of us, I thought I was getting Alzheimer’s and have never really gotten over the trauma that this caused plus complete insomnia over a whole year which is now much improved yet I’m still terrified of not sleeping. Forgive me for digressing, I now have three quarters brain power ridiculous as it sounds x

I get brain fog always when on the progesterone part of my HRT cycle. Also every single morning when I wake up! However when not on the prog I can usually shake it off and function normally ( well sort of!!). My brain of course does not function as well as it used to but I do put that down to age (late 60's). Can't remember how old you are sheila but for me this is only last couple of years (the foggy mornings).

I think the brain fog is the result of not getting enough deep sleep which is more likely with disturbed sleep.
Meditation, relaxation, yoga etc... can really help. So does hrt when it helps directly with sleep.

I have had horrendous brain fog since my M.E. diagnosis at the age of 51. (Noting your post, Wannabewell!) This makes for interesting "coincidences", timing-wise? I cannot make decisions or choices about anything and often make mistakes as a result. Poor information-processing and overwhelm when multi-tasking feature strongly. Anything which is demanding in terms of immediacy of response, as in over the phone or in stressful dialogues, is extremely difficult. I'm now very post-meno, aged 68 and am a month into starting systemic hrt and Vagifem. Watch this space!
