Title: Utrogesten vaginal- success anyone ?
Post by: Orba on June 15, 2021, 08:23:07 AM
Hi friends,
After a month on evorel conti  patches I started to get terrible cramps/backache and heavy bleeding  I tried to persevere but ended up taking off the patch🤦
I spoke with my GP  today who is sympathetic  and she suggested trying the oestrogen gel and Utrogesten combo  but using the Progesterone element vaginally.
I had tried Utrogesten a year ago oral route but had caused the same cramps and bleeding.
Maybe I just can't tolerate the Progesterone element of any HRT. But I'm prepared to give this one more go.
Has anyone had success with using Utrogesten vaginal route?
Thanks

Loads of us use it that way, simply because there are a lot less side effects that way. Sadly progesterone is the element of hrt that many struggle with, there are loads of threads on here about just that subject.

I use evorel 50 patches and utrogestan separately, it’s the best regime I’ve tried (and I’ve tried them all 😂). The only you’ll know is by trying it, good luck and let us know how you get on x

Thanks for imput. Must admit I'm nervous about trying progesterone again but I've got to try .
It's such a shame as I always feel so good on HRT for the first few weeks until bleeding/cramps start . Here goes. . . X

Are you definitely meno rather than peri? Just wondering if a sequi regime would be better. You can expect breakthrough bleeding in the first 6 months of a conti regime but yours sounds more like a proper bleed. A mirena is often the best option to stop bleeding.
