Title: Hi
Post by: Willo on June 07, 2021, 07:12:10 PM
I'm new on here, and a little nervous about starting my HRT! I started Peri at 44 (now 50) and thought I was going mad for a few years! lots of tingling, feeling low, anxious, dizzy spells and more! My Dr just kept offering me blood tests (think just to get rid of me) ;)
They always just came back as low iron, and she said I was just stressed as I worrying too much.. And said I was too young to be perimenopausal.
anyway! I decided to go private to get help as it's now 18 months since a period and still having lots of typical symptoms so I know I'm now in menopause. I could have cried with relief after speaking to a menopause specialist and she told me everything I was feeling were text book symptoms! and the relief of knowing I wasn't going mad! I have been prescribed Sandrena Gel, Utrogestan & Vagifen. I'm waiting for delivery of them which will be this week, but I am a little apprehensive about starting them!
I've been having a good read through the forum messages and it's such a relief to know it's not just me!
So I just wanted to say hi xx

Hello Willo and welcome to the forum.

I expect that 90% of the ladies on this site have experienced your symptoms so how a doctor can dismiss them as unrelated to the menopause is beyond me! I feel sorry for all the other female patients who need her help.

I hope that  HRT works well for you and let us know how you get on.

Take care.

K.

Start the 'vagifem', ASAP!  If U have the nip at the end of passing urine then take pain relief 3 times a day which will relax the spincter.
