Title: New to Hrt is cramping normal?
Post by: Georgia on June 02, 2021, 07:26:35 AM
Hi there 🙂, I'm new here this is my first post.
I am post menopausal but recently started to struggle so decided to go to the Dr who suggested hrt, she's given me the evoral conti patch and the vaginal pessaries. I've only been on it a week, I generally feel good but I'm getting pains, like period pains. I'm just wondering if this is normal, if anyone else had this and did it settle down? Also my Dr recommended this website to me which I was thankful for 🙂

Hi Georgia. Yes it's perfectly normal when you first begin HRT and should settle down. Although conti HRT is called 'non bleed' you can get breakthrough bleeding or spotting during the first six months so don't be alarmed if this happens. It takes around three months before you can really tell if any HRT type is the one for you so perseverance is key.

It's always good to hear that a GP has recommended this website. Lots of really good information and advice on here. You've come to the right place
