Title: Still not absorbing estrogen - what next?
Post by: TNM45689 on May 21, 2021, 07:09:49 PM
Hi there....been on HRT since I was 45 for approx 4 years - post-menopausal - was on patches initially 100mg but wasn't absorbing and have been on oestrogel since - I am on 5 pumps - I have always struggled with getting my levels over 200 and in December I thought I had turned a corner with levels at 458 but my last two levels have been 142 and 149.  I just wondered what was next - I still would prefer transdermally - has anyone else experienced this and managed to increase their levels? I have osteoporosis and HRT is my treatment for it and it really needs to have levels above 300 for any real bone protection. Thanks

I have trouble absorbing transdermal so am now on Estrogen tablets as well as gel, not ideal but I have no quality of life so need to get the Estrogen in to me somehow.

That is what I am thinking - 4 years is a long time to keep trying.....

There's an oestrogen implant though that may be a last resort and obviously needs a specialist.
