I’ve been taking Femoston 0.25/5 for 3 months and just increased to 0.5/10 as my night sweats and anxiety hadn’t gone away (although did improve).
Meanwhile my libido completely disappeared about a year ago and the lower dose Femoston made no difference there. Do you think increasing the dose will bring any improvement or should I look to supplement Femoston with some testosterone or Livia (or something else)?
I’m only 52 and recently remarried so not ready to give up this part of my life.
Thanks in advance for any experience/advice that anyone can share :)

They both seem to be very low dose hrt.

They are very low doses.
I take 2mg Femoston conti, and I’ve had no trouble with libido at all.
Saying that, if you’ve just increased, it might take a while to filter through, as it were.
See how you go on the increase, because taking too much HRT can be as bad as nit taking enough.
Keep us informed, and maybe someone else can offer advice.
Good luck. Xx

Thank you Jillydoll. I’m sure you are right that I should wait and see how the increased dose works out. It would be lovely to think it might make me feel more normal or even ‘young again’. Wouldn’t that be great ;)

If you use testosterone before your oestrogen levels are high enough it gets converted anyway. I'd wait until your symptoms have gone then if you still have no libido ask for a referral to a menopause clinic who can prescribe testosterone. Some women find their libido returns when oestrogen are restored, I have to use testosterone.

Do you have any vaginal symptoms? I find that local oestrogen is a help too.
