Title: Success with D-Mannose
Post by: Iris67 on May 12, 2021, 03:49:58 PM
I had 3 UTI's in 8 weeks. They were confirmed by lab cultures. The infections were getting progressive weaker in terms of symptoms but after reading about biofilms (and therefore antibiotics have limited success) I thought I'd try D-Mannose.

The NICE guidelines acknowledge D-Mannose as an effective treatment/preventative for UTIs. There is lots of research and evidence to suggest it is well worth trying without the potentially awful side effects of antibiotics.

It took a few days but I feel a lot better. I anticipate a maintenance dose for some time as it was a very gradual improvement. I have no acute symptoms and I feel very much better in myself. I kept an eye on my temperature etc. throughout and was ready to take the antibiotics if it got out of hand.

I have also been taking the Vagifem religiously, although I understand that helps with VA rather than infection as such?

Yup, highly recommend D-Mannose and so great to see it referenced via NICE!!!!! Glad you're reaping the benefit.
