Title: Period after 17 months
Post by: Cruxxy on May 11, 2021, 09:49:05 PM
I last had a period in Dec 2019 (before that I went 11 months so had to start the 12 month count again from Dec 19).

Now it is 17 months later, thought I could safely assume that I was now post menopausal. A few days ago I said to my husband that my bloated stomach reminded me of the days when I had periods, that pre menstrual bloat. And I have had tender breasts. Now I am having a period so I wasn’t wrong.

Is this something to be worried about or common enough? I know I have to start the 12 month count again from today....

(I am not on HRT or any other medication.)

Hi Poppy99. It's important that you get this checked out as any bleeding more than a year after your last period is considered abnormal. It's probably a hormonal blip, especially as you also had tender breasts, but please make the appointment just to be on the safe side.
