Title: How long can you continue using vagifem for?

How long can you continue using vagifem for?

I have just finished the two wk loading period and going to twice a week now, as the doctor wanted to try it to see if it would help with stress incontinence due to grd 2 bladder prolapse and it seems it has helped somewhat.

I am 47 and the only sign of peri menopause is slightly wonky periods now.
The Drug insert information says 12 mths, but seeing as its such a low local dose, surely not?

You will need to use it forever, as VA is an ongoing condition caused by lack of oestrogen. Glad to hear it is helping a bit. If you find that twice a week is not enough you can use it more often. (I use every night.)

Joaniepat is correct,I'm on it and take it every other day,you may have to increase the dose if your symptoms don't ease

Drug insert information - put it into the wood burner ;-)

Each vagina and vulvul area are different but the same in that they may become dry, sore, itchy because the skin becomes thin.  Some require 'vagifem' nightly or as necessary, or twice a week.  Sometimes ladies use 'ovestin' on the outer areas - I find KY Jelly helps as well as 'ovestin' into the vagina 2-3 times a week.

I find 'nurofen' stops the need2P feelings.

Yes, you need it long term.  Symptoms just return if treatment stops.
