Just came across this interesting, but depressing, article about chocolate:
https://www.drscottmonk.com/six-ways-chocolate-hurts.html

I don't get any of the problems he describes, and I have eaten tons of the stuff over my life time.
I shouldn't worry, there are worse vices. ;D

Chronic non-traumatic hip pain in women (usually the right hip)
I stopped reading at this point!
Chocolate drops kept me alive when I was a toddler. When I can't face chocolate then I know that I am several anorexic :-\
Chocolate is known to have lots of good minerals as well as being a soothing calming food.

I know it can trigger migraine in some people

Depressing maybe but definitely total bl'ks! I'm always very wary of any article that doesn't source a serious, recent, peer-reviewed, scientific study.
e.g. this one https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/270272#benefits
Chances are in all these scenarios the sugar and lack of exercise are doing the damage.
Chocolate CAN be a migraine trigger, but triggers are known to be additive, e.g. for me it's : late night + dehydration + skipped meal + dark chocolate + stress = attack, whereas chocs alone won't set one off.

Why doesn't someone ask me about chocolate ;D .... do U feel more reassured marge?
-
I wasn’t bothered by it at all and l won’t be giving up chocolate any time soon. Just thought it was quite interesting. Everybody’s body is different and we all react in different ways. Off out for a pub meal tonight and if there’s chocolate pud on the menu, rest assured l’ll be indulging!
-
;D. I often begin with the pudding especially if there's sauce over the pud ;-) ;D

Hehe, I love how defensive we get about chocolate. I could give up milk and cheese at a push but chocolate's a dealbreaker. Guess who had a wispa for tea ::) ;)
-
;D only 1 ;D

You must all try M&S chocolate coated popcorn omg,it's delicious, tbh you wouldn't know it's popcorn but the chocolate? :o
-
'Right hip'!! That's really specific...is it a joke?! Was discussing with my sister this morning how chocolate makes her feel bad - spooky coincidence.
-
jaypo - does 1 have to pop it first ?
Iris67 - I have eaten chocolate 4ever, it's kept me alive at times. In the hot weather of 1995 I went off chocolate, it made me sluggish. It was too warm to walk to the shop to buy any and within about 5 days I felt better. I stopped eating it for a while, can't remember how long. Better now ;D
