Good Afternoon - Just wondered if anyone has experienced bladder irritation on oral Utrogestan? I use to take 100mg but GP increased it to 200mg every day due to regular bleeding /spotting. This has now gone but have a feeling of pressure on my bladder like i need to pee all the time, even worse at night.
Any feedback would be very welcome.

Hi! it may be a rush of hormones. Have a look-C at 'bladder issues' and 'vaginal atrophy' threads. VA mimics the need to pee really really well!
There are appropriate treatments. Let us know how you get on?

Yes, I have had bladder irritation with Utrogestan, and repeated UTI's. I think there are a few women who have reported similar on the Menopause Matters Forum. It was suggested that I try vagifem with Utrogestan but I still experience discomfort. I know there is a study somewhere on the internet that shows the percentages of women who experienced irritation with Utrogestan. I think Utrogestan is a diuretic so passing urine more often goes with the territory. I have read other posts that suggest increasing the estrogen?

R they UTIs, is a urine sample sent to a Lab for testing?
Up the 'vagifem' to nightly.

Has the bleeding been investigated to rule out fibroid, thickened lining etc? You could try changing to long cycle sequi for 2-3 cycles. If you have 4 weeks oestrogen only your symptoms will have time to go if it's caused by utro (6ish week cycle, 200mg x 12 days utro). If you have a heavy bleed it might indicate your lining has built up.
