Title: Menopause expert
Post by: Sarah B on April 05, 2021, 05:30:43 PM
Hi. I have recently started HRT 3-4 months ago. With pump oestrogel and utrogestran. I felt awful when I took utrogestran for 3 weeks continuously orally So Decided to try it vaginally cyclically. Going for every 12 weeks to limit
How much I am using. I would really appreciate any advice on a menopause specialist who I could talk through what I am doing and the safety of it in relation to specific circumstances. Kind regards. Sarah

Hi Sarah B, welcome to the Forum. If you click on the 'Specialists' tab on the menu above, this will take you to the 'find a specialist' section of The British Menopause Society website.

I'm not sure anyone will tell you a 12 week cycle is safe. You could consider arranging your own scan after a few months to check there's no thickening. You should have fewer side effects using it vaginally so a shorter cycle may be more tolerable.
