Hi I spoke to a gp yesterday about going on hrt to help with night sweats etc. I have been on hrt for 7 yrs Elleste Duet and then Femosten. I came off it in December due to spotting and had a polyp removed. Since then I haven’t had a period. But the usual menopause symptoms had hit me with a vengeance especially awful night sweats. The gp said I can go on a continuous hrt and I won’t get a bleed. When I picked up my prescription I have been given Elleste Duet and the leaflet says I will get a bleed. Have I been given the wrong tablet should I have been given Elleste Duet Conti. Or because I haven’t had a period for four months will I not bleed on this. Thanks x

Conti HRT is for post-menopausal women (at least a year without a natural period) unless you are over the age of 53 I believe but, yes, for a continuous HRT you do need Elleste Duet Conti.
