hoping someone can help as doctor is a nightmare, I know vagifen can be used 5 times a week is ovestin the same or is it just the twice a week

The BMS says up to 3 times a week for Ovestin, 5 for Vagifem. However, in my opinion (non-medical of course) you could use whatever it takes to get comfortable!
I use Vagifem every night.

Use as necessary?   It's about being comfortable.

After the initial insertion I put a small amount of product onto the applicator and wipe gently around the outer labia to keep them supple and less likely to itch. 

If I get the need2pee symptoms, 2 Nurofen 3 times a day works.
